On Monday 12/5 the Port Gibson Fire Dept along with the Palmyra And East Palmyra Fire Departments held a training at a house on Armington Road.  This training was on self rescue, breeching walls moving from one room to another through a 12-16 inch hole in
the wall.

Volunteer firefighters Ken Rice and John Wood, both members of the Port Gibson Vol. Fire Dept. were among firefighters representing 12 Ontario County Fire Departments on a 3 day deployment to Schoharie County to assist local departments with clean up from Hurricane and Tropical Storm Irene. While there the firefighters served as relief fire crews. They were helping with water and debris removal, and acted as standby crews for fire response in the disaster area.

We are still processing other pictures, and currently have crews still on disaster relief deployement to the Broome County area.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those who are effected and all of our Volunteers who are helping.
